Uganda Airlines launches weekly flights from Entebbe to Zanzibar to enhance East African tourism connectivity

The airline links Uganda’s renowned inland safari parks with Zanzibar’s pristine coastal attractions, offering tourists convenient multi-destination travel options and creating a more seamless travel experience across East Africa.

UGANDA – Uganda Airlines has introduced a new direct route between Entebbe and Zanzibar, offering three weekly flights starting August 2025.

This strategic connection is expected to significantly enhance East Africa’s travel and tourism connectivity by providing seamless access to Zanzibar’s northern coast, including the popular Nungwi Beach, widely regarded as one of East Africa’s top beach destinations.

The new route underscores Uganda Airlines’ expanding commitment to promoting intra-African tourism by linking key destinations within the region.

By connecting Uganda’s famous inland safari parks with Zanzibar’s pristine coastal attractions, the airline facilitates easier multi-destination travel options for tourists, creating a more integrated travel experience across East Africa.

This increased accessibility supports the growing demand for diverse travel experiences among visitors who want to combine wildlife safaris with beach holidays.

Visitors flying with Uganda Airlines can now conveniently enjoy Uganda’s world-renowned safari locations and then easily transition to Zanzibar’s turquoise waters and beautiful beaches, all within a single trip.

The addition of three flights per week indicates the airline’s response to rising market demand and its strategic focus on improving regional air links.

Better connectivity often translates into increased tourist inflows, benefiting local economies through higher spending on hospitality, excursions, and cultural experiences.

Uganda Airlines continues to strengthen its role as a key player in boosting East African tourism.

This new route not only helps attract more international tourists but also improves options for regional travelers seeking convenient and affordable air travel within Africa.

Furthermore, this enhanced route supports trade and business travel, offering greater flexibility and efficiency for professionals operating between the two vibrant destinations.

The direct flights follow Uganda Airlines’ broader strategy to expand its network and contribute to Africa’s overall tourism growth.

The airline’s role in linking prominent leisure destinations fosters the integration of East Africa’s rich natural and cultural assets, positioning the region as a must-visit destination.

With increased air connectivity between Entebbe and Zanzibar, tourists and locals alike will benefit from a smoother, more enjoyable travel experience that promotes the growth of sustainable tourism across East Africa.
