Three new luxury five-star hotels planned to transform Israel’s Mitzpe Ramon into a premier desert tourism destination

This significant development, a collaboration between Africa Israel Hotels, the Geshem Group, and the Almog Group, seeks to add nearly 1,500 guest rooms and establish Mitzpe Ramon as a premier global destination for luxury desert tourism.

ISRAEL – In a bold initiative to elevate desert tourism in Israel, three new luxury five-star hotels are set to be developed on the cliffside edge of the Ramon Crater, also known as Mitzpe Ramon, located in the Negev Desert.

This major project, a joint effort by the Africa Israel Hotels chain, the Geshem Group, and the Almog Group, aims to create nearly 1,500 guest rooms and position Mitzpe Ramon as a world-class destination for luxury desert experiences.

Mitzpe Ramon is already known for its dramatic geological landscape, including the stunning Ramon Crater Geological Park and Nature Reserve, drawing nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

These upcoming hotels will further enhance the area’s appeal by offering premium accommodations and world-class amenities that complement the region’s natural beauty.

Construction on these five-star resorts is expected to begin soon, with openings planned within the next five years.

The hotels will be built overlooking the cliffside, providing breathtaking views of the crater and the expansive desert.

Together, they will form a significant boost to the local tourism infrastructure, providing nearly 1,500 rooms, which will greatly increase lodging capacity and attract a broader spectrum of guests ranging from luxury travelers to business tourists.

This ambitious development reflects growing interest and investment in Israel’s desert regions as emerging luxury destinations.

It complements existing prestigious properties such as the Beresheet Hotel by Isrotel, located nearby on the crater cliffs, which already offers a unique desert luxury experience with private pools, spa facilities, and fine dining.

The project is expected to create a halo effect on the local economy by generating jobs and stimulating auxiliary businesses tied to tourism.

Visitors will have enhanced opportunities to explore the area’s natural wonders, including hiking, stargazing (notably enhanced by the area’s UNESCO recognition as a World Star Light Reserve), and cultural tourism.

With the addition of these new luxury hotels, Mitzpe Ramon is poised to become a key player in Israel’s hospitality landscape, attracting international tourists seeking exclusive desert retreats combined with ultra-modern comforts and exceptional service.
