Americana Restaurants reports US$1.217B revenue in H1 2025, up 15.6% Year-on-Year

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 17.9% to US$274.9 million, highlighting strong unit economics and effective operational leverage.

MIDDLE EAST – Americana Restaurants International PLC has announced strong financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2025, with revenue reaching US$1.217 billion.

This represents a solid 15.6% year-on-year increase, driven by a robust recovery across key markets and sustained like-for-like growth in existing stores.

The company’s like-for-like revenue rose 12.4%, highlighting the strength and resilience of its established restaurant portfolio.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 17.9% to US$274.9 million, reflecting efficient unit economics and solid operational leverage.

This was achieved despite a growing share of home delivery sales, which typically involve higher logistical costs, showing the effectiveness of cost control measures.

Net profit attributable to shareholders stood at US$92.5 million, maintaining a margin of 7.6%, consistent with the previous year.

This level was reached despite the impact of new tax regulations, which amounted to US$8.2 million in key markets during 2025.

It is important to note that the net profit of H1 2024 included positive one-off items totaling US$7.2 million, predominantly due to marketing cost reliefs accounted for in Q1 2024, which normalized afterward.

Operationally, Americana expanded its footprint by opening 36 new restaurants during the period and successfully integrating 46 Pizza Hut outlets across Oman.

The company’s total restaurant count grew to 2,638 locations spread across 12 countries in the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan.

This expansion, combined with ongoing product innovation and a focus on quality, helped drive higher like-for-like sales and market share gains.

The strong performance underscores Americana’s ability to adapt to evolving market dynamics, manage cost pressures effectively, and maintain shareholder value.

The company demonstrated robust free cash flow generation and maintained disciplined balance sheet management, further enabling strategic investments and growth initiatives.

Americana Restaurants continues to consolidate its leadership as the largest quick-service and out-of-home dining operator in the MENA region and Kazakhstan.

The company is well-positioned to capitalize on growing consumer demand for dining experiences outside the home and continues to focus on innovation and operational excellence.

Americana Restaurants made history in 2022 with its IPO on both the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Saudi Exchange, becoming the region’s first-ever concurrent dual listing.
