Dubai’s MICE sector drives tourism growth with 249 successfulevent bids in first half of 2025 – DBE

The 29% rise in bids compared to the same period in 2024, coupled with an improved conversion rate of 64%, up from 58%, demonstrates the emirate’s growing attractiveness to international event organizers.

UAE – Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau, has fueled robust growth in Dubai’s MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) sector, securing 249 successful event bids in the first six months of 2025.

This milestone underscores Dubai’s expanding role as a premier global destination for business events, catalyzing a major boost to the city’s tourism industry in alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

The surge in bids, a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2024, alongside a strong 64% conversion rate, up from 58%, reflects the emirate’s rising appeal among international organizers.

These confirmed events are projected to bring 127,087 delegates through 2029, representing a 35% year-on-year rise in visitor numbers.

This influx of business travelers significantly contributes to Dubai’s tourism sector by fueling demand for hotels, dining, transportation, and retail.

MICE tourism acts as a key driver of the emirate’s knowledge economy, attracting global professionals and fostering opportunities for networking, innovation, and cross-industry collaboration.

Dubai’s strategic investments in world-class infrastructure, advanced technology, and seamless event services enhance its competitiveness in the highly dynamic global meetings market.

DBE’s success results from strong partnerships with government authorities, hospitality operators, event organizers, and commerce bodies, all working in tandem to promote Dubai’s diversified event offerings.

The city’s calendar now features large-scale congresses, incentive programs, and specialized conferences across multiple sectors, drawing attendees year-round and expanding Dubai’s tourism appeal beyond traditional leisure travel.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, emphasized, “Dubai’s growing MICE landscape is integral to our tourism and economic vision. By attracting more international events and delegates, we are nurturing a knowledge-based economy and enhancing the visitor experience.”

The increased delegate arrivals from these business events generate high economic value, elevating hotel occupancy rates during off-peak seasons, supporting local businesses, and encouraging cultural tourism.

These factors reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a vibrant destination where business excellence and leisure seamlessly coexist.

Looking ahead, DBE plans to harness this momentum to further diversify and upscale Dubai’s MICE portfolio, aligning with Vision D33’s goal of sustainable tourism development.

The symbiotic growth between business events and tourism ensures Dubai remains a leading hub for global meetings and a magnet for international visitors.
