Qatar Airways resumes flights to Aleppo, Syria, strengthening regional connectivity

Flights to Aleppo will start with three weekly services, increasing to four flights per week from September 1, 2025.

QATAR – Qatar Airways announced on  July 16, 2025, the resumption of three weekly flights to Aleppo, Syria, starting August 10, 2025.

This marked a significant step in reconnecting Syria with global air travel networks.

Initially, flights to Aleppo will operate three times a week and will increase to four weekly flights beginning September 1, 2025.

The phased increase reflects growing demand and the airline’s commitment to expanding regional accessibility.

The airline originally commenced operations to Aleppo in 2011, establishing an early link between Syria and Qatar Airways’ extensive network.

Operations were paused due to regional instability but are now being restored amid improving conditions.

Earlier in 2025, Qatar Airways also resumed flights to Damascus, Syria’s capital, making Aleppo the airline’s second Syrian destination.

This expansion offers passengers convenient access to Syria through Qatar Airways’ global network of over 170 destinations.

The restoration of flights to Aleppo supports humanitarian, business, and tourism activities, contributing to Syria’s gradual reintegration into international air travel. It also provides vital connectivity for diaspora communities and trade opportunities.

Passengers flying to or from Aleppo will benefit from Qatar Airways’ signature service standards, including modern aircraft, seamless connections via Doha, and enhanced in-flight amenities.

Industry analysts view Qatar Airways’ decision as a positive signal for Syria’s aviation sector recovery and an encouragement for other airlines to consider similar route restorations.

By resuming Aleppo flights, Qatar Airways reinforces its reputation as a global airline connecting diverse markets and restoring vital links disrupted during years of conflict.

With the increase to four weekly flights in September, travelers will enjoy greater scheduling flexibility and frequency, making Qatar Airways a preferred carrier for routes to northern Syria. This supports both leisure and business travel demand.

Qatar Airways’ reopening of Aleppo reflects optimism about Syria’s future and the airline’s commitment to investing in emerging markets despite lingering geopolitical challenges. It signals confidence in the gradual return of safe and commercial travel.

This development will likely stimulate tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Syria and destinations across Qatar Airways’ global network.

It complements ongoing efforts to rebuild Syria’s connectivity infrastructure and promote economic revival.
