Mercure opens in Khamis Mushait, marking new milestone for Accor, Amsa Hospitality in Aseer Region

The hotel, managed by Amsa Hospitality and operating under the Accor Group’s Mercure brand, offers 93 contemporary rooms across five floors.

SAUDI ARABIA – Accor’s locally-inspired brand Mercure has officially opened Mercure Khamis Mushait in Saudi Arabia’s scenic Aseer region.

Amsa Hospitality launched and will manage Mercure Khamis Mushait, marking the launch of the first internationally branded hotel in the city.

Located 15 kilometers from Abha International Airport, the new property brings a blend of modern comfort and cultural authenticity to the Aseer region.

The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda, which aims to boost domestic tourism and expand regional hospitality offerings.

The hotel, managed by Amsa Hospitality and operating under the Accor Group’s Mercure brand, offers 93 contemporary rooms across five floors.

The interiors feature locally inspired design elements that celebrate the region’s cultural heritage.

By combining global hospitality standards with Saudi traditions, the hotel seeks to provide a warm and immersive guest experience.

Mercure Khamis Mushait is designed to serve both business and leisure travellers. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, a coffee shop, a modern gym, an indoor swimming pool, and a fully equipped meeting room.

Guests also have access to 24/7 in-room dining and laundry services, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to convenience and comfort.

Hameed Ali, the General Manager, stated that the opening of the hotel was a source of pride for the team and that they were committed to delivering a unique blend of local character and high service standards for all guests.

Aamir Riaz, Chief Operating Officer of Amsa Hospitality, noted the team’s enthusiasm about welcoming guests to the new property and acknowledged Accor’s collaboration as instrumental in realising the project.

He also expressed confidence in the hotel’s ability to reflect the warmth and hospitality associated with the Mercure brand.

The hotel’s design aligns with Mercure’s “Discover Local” programme, which aims to immerse guests in the culture and atmosphere of each destination.

Since its founding in 1973, Mercure has prioritised showcasing local treasures, and the brand recently achieved a global milestone of surpassing 1,000 hotels worldwide.

The opening of Mercure Khamis Mushait strengthens the city’s hospitality infrastructure and contributes to the wider national goal of positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading year-round destination.
