MIDDLE EAST – Deliveroo has announced a leadership change in its Middle East operations, with Anis Harb stepping down after nearly a decade of building the company’s presence in the region, to be succeeded by Nick Price, former General Manager of Deliveroo Hong Kong.
Anis Harb, the founder of Deliveroo in the UAE in 2015, has successfully led the company’s transformation into one of the region’s foremost food and grocery delivery platforms.
Under his leadership, Deliveroo has expanded significantly across the Middle East, extending its presence from the UAE to Kuwait and Qatar.
Harb was instrumental in launching key innovations like Deliveroo’s cloud kitchens ‘Editions’, the rapid grocery delivery service ‘Hop’, and the subscription model ‘Deliveroo Plus’.
He also guided the company’s foray into grocery and retail, overseeing a network of over 25,000 partners and a fleet of more than 9,000 riders, all while driving consistent growth across the region.
Nick Price, who will succeed Harb, brings a wealth of experience from his recent role as Deliveroo’s General Manager in Hong Kong.
His leadership was marked by strengthened strategic partnerships, improved rider models, growth in the Deliveroo Plus subscription service, and a doubling of Deliveroo’s on-demand grocery penetration.
Prior to his role at Deliveroo, Nick served as Commercial Director at SSP, where he managed commercial strategies across the Asia Pacific region.
His extensive background in finance, strategy, and commercial leadership positions him well to guide Deliveroo’s next phase of growth in the Middle East.
Deliveroo CEO, Will Shu, praised Harb for laying a solid foundation for the company’s continued growth, noting that his leadership, innovation, and team-building efforts have had a profound impact on the company.
Shu expressed excitement for the future under Price’s leadership, emphasizing his energy, vision, and strong execution skills.
In his farewell statement, Harb reflected on the extraordinary journey of leading Deliveroo in the Middle East for the past decade, expressing pride in the team and the company’s achievements.
He also expressed confidence in Price’s leadership as Deliveroo moves forward in the region.
Nick Price acknowledged the importance of the Middle East to Deliveroo’s business, emphasizing continued growth in restaurants, retail, and groceries.
He outlined plans to enhance the Consumer Value Proposition, expand the Deliveroo Plus model, and drive operational efficiency to ensure shared growth for all partners.
