BAHRAIN – Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School has partnered with Hawar Resort by Mantis, an eco-luxury property on Hawar Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to provide hands-on training for future hospitality professionals.
This collaboration underscores Vatel Bahrain’s commitment to blending industry and academia, ensuring that students acquire real-world experience in sustainable luxury hospitality.
Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, explained that facilitating students’ training at Hawar Resort by Mantis, a pioneer in sustainable luxury tourism in the Gulf and broader Middle Eastern region, represented a strategic investment in developing their capabilities.
He highlighted that this opportunity would empower aspiring hospitality professionals to refine their skills in state-of-the-art facilities that met the highest industry standards.
The partnership also aligned with Vatel Bahrain’s focus on providing its students with internship opportunities across various hotels within the Accor Group, one of the largest hotel chains globally and in the Middle East.
Sheikh Khaled further pointed out the uniqueness of Hawar Resort by Mantis, noting that it was one of the first luxury eco-resorts in the Gulf region.
He stated that the resort would offer Vatel students invaluable training in luxury tourism, hotel operations, and other aspects of hospitality, thus enhancing their chances of success in the competitive job market.
The resort’s strategic location on Hawar Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offered an ideal setting for students to immerse themselves in the workings of luxury hospitality operations.
This hands-on experience would allow students to gain insights into best practices at high-end facilities that cater to both international and domestic guests, preparing them for future roles in the hospitality industry.
Sheikh Khaled also mentioned the success of Abdullah Traif, a recent Vatel Bahrain graduate who had been part of the pre-opening team at Hawar Resort by Mantis.
He noted that Abdullah now held the position of Housekeeping Supervisor at the resort, and his career demonstrated the quality of education and training provided by Vatel Bahrain.
Mr. Mohammad Ali Kunhi, Hotel Manager of Hawar Resort by Mantis, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that it would position the resort as a leading training partner for Vatel Bahrain.
He added that the partnership would offer Bahraini students valuable, hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment, while contributing to their professional growth.
