INDIA – Hilton has announced plans to expand in Northeast India with the 2028 opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Siliguri, developed with Soonerio Hotels Pvt Ltd, a Beekay Group subsidiary, marking its debut in Siliguri, the “Gateway of Northeast India.”

The upcoming property, located on Sevoke Road, is being developed in collaboration with Soonerio Hotels Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Beekay Group, and is expected to open in 2028.

Recognized as the Gateway to Northeast India, Siliguri serves as a crucial hub for both business and leisure travelers.

The new hotel aims to address the increasing demand for upscale accommodations, offering modern amenities, contemporary design, and a prime location.

According to Zubin Saxena, Senior Vice President and Regional Head, South Asia, Hilton, the project aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding into high-potential markets.

He emphasized that the move reflects the growing demand for premium hospitality in the region and Hilton’s commitment to placing its brands in strategic locations.

The 120-key hotel will feature a selection of rooms and suites, complemented by diverse dining options and over 17,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Guests will also have access to a fitness center, spa, and outdoor pool, ensuring a well-rounded hospitality experience.

Clarence Tan, Senior Vice President of Development, Asia-Pacific, Hilton, highlighted that the expansion of DoubleTree by Hilton in the region underscores the brand’s focus on providing exceptional service and warm hospitality.

With over 20 DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in South Asia, he saw the Siliguri property as a valuable addition to Hilton’s growing portfolio in emerging gateway cities.

Once operational, DoubleTree by Hilton Siliguri is expected to enhance the hospitality landscape of Northeast India, catering to both business and leisure travelers seeking premium experiences.
