Red Palace to open in 2026 as Boutique Group’s first luxury hospitality project

SAUDI ARABIA – The Red Palace in Riyadh, the first of Boutique Group’s luxury hospitality projects, is set to open in 2026 with over 60% of its historic restoration complete and work on schedule, according to CEO Christoph Mares who provided an update in a recent interview.

He emphasized that the company has developed a bespoke operating model rooted in Saudi hospitality, ensuring an authentic and elevated guest experience.

Mares highlighted that Boutique Group’s properties will offer exclusive stays within meticulously restored historic palaces while remaining open for public bookings.

This approach, he explained, provides access to accommodations, dining, and cultural experiences, allowing both local and international guests to engage with Saudi heritage.

He further noted that the company is actively exploring opportunities to expand its portfolio with additional historically significant destinations.

Leading a new phase of ultra-luxury hospitality in Saudi Arabia, Mares stated that Boutique Group is transforming historical landmarks into world-class destinations.

He pointed to the progress of the three announced projects, Al Hamra Palace, The Red Palace, and Tuwaiq Palace, stating that The Red Palace restoration has surpassed 60% completion, blending heritage with contemporary elegance.

The CEO confirmed that The Red Palace in Riyadh will be the first to welcome guests, with its grand opening scheduled for April 2026.

He described this launch as a milestone that will redefine luxury hospitality in Saudi Arabia, showcasing homegrown sophistication and setting a new benchmark for the sector.

To attract high-net-worth travelers, Mares stated that Boutique Group curates exclusive experiences that provide deep cultural immersion.

He noted that both local guests and international travelers will find something unique, whether it be a renewed appreciation for Saudi heritage or a completely novel luxury experience inspired by Arabian traditions.

Unlike global luxury brands, Boutique Group differentiates itself by offering an intimate connection to Saudi history, the CEO said.

While renowned hospitality brands emphasize world-class service and amenities, Boutique Group goes further by providing exclusive access to historically significant palaces, bespoke culinary experiences, and wellness rituals rooted in Arabian traditions.

While the immediate focus remains on launching Al Hamra Palace, The Red Palace, and Tuwaiq Palace, Mares acknowledged that expansion is on the horizon.

Without disclosing specifics, he confirmed that Boutique Group is actively identifying additional historic destinations that align with its vision of preserving and reimagining cultural landmarks.
