RAK Hospitality Holding earns EarthCheck Silver Certification, strengthening sustainability commitment

UAE – RAK Hospitality Holding (RAKHH) has announced its attainment of EarthCheck’s 1st Year Silver Certification, marking a significant milestone that underscores its commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership.

RAK Hospitality Holding (RAKHH) has achieved an impressive leap from Bronze to Silver certification—a rare progression accomplished in just eight months.

This milestone reflects the company’s meticulous approach to sustainability and is a testament to the efforts of RAKHH and its subsidiaries, including RAK National Hotels, RAK Hospitality Logistics, and Stirling Hospitality Advisory.

In addition, RAK Leisure and Safarak, which secured Silver certification last year, have successfully renewed their status this year, underscoring the group’s consistent commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The group has also distinguished itself as a “Regional Leader” in the Administration Office sector by excelling in key sustainability categories such as reducing waste sent to landfills, conserving potable water, and lowering energy consumption.

The benchmarking data from 2023 confirmed these successes, further solidifying RAKHH’s role as an industry front-runner in environmental stewardship.

Alison Grinnell, CEO of RAKHH, explained that this achievement is a clear indicator of the company’s dedication to integrating sustainability into its business practices.

“Advancing directly from Bronze to Silver certification highlights our relentless pursuit of operational excellence and environmental responsibility,” she said.

Grinnell emphasized that these efforts not only improve efficiencies and elevate the guest experience but also set new benchmarks for responsible tourism in the hospitality industry.

In a separate yet significant development, RAKHH announced in 2024 the addition of Rixos Hotels to its portfolio.

This expansion marks a strategic move into the pristine shores of Ras Al Khaimah, effective July 1, 2024.

Embracing the Rixos brand ethos, the new properties will focus on delivering enhanced culinary experiences, engaging activities for kids and teens, vibrant live entertainment, exciting sports and recreation, rejuvenating spa and wellness facilities, and streamlined meetings and events services.

Under RAKHH’s management, the current resort portfolio boasts 471 keys, including rooms, suites, and villas, nine distinct food and beverage outlets, and seven swimming pools, which feature a saltwater pool, an adults-only pool, and a kids’ pool with a waterslide.

In addition, the resort offers three versatile meeting and event spaces totaling 2,688 square feet, alongside a luxurious spa and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
