INDIA – The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has added a restored 19th-century haveli in Mandawa, Rajasthan, to its SeleQtions portfolio, blending the region’s architectural heritage with modern luxury through a conversion project that preserves authenticity while enhancing the guest experience.
IHCL’s expansion into Mandawa highlights the increasing demand for culturally immersive travel experiences.
Situated in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region, the town is renowned for its intricately frescoed havelis, attracting visitors from around the world.

The upcoming IHCL SeleQtions hotel in Mandawa will seamlessly blend historic charm with contemporary luxury.

With this addition, IHCL now operates 28 hotels across Rajasthan under its Taj, Vivanta, and SeleQtions brands, with six more properties under development.
The expansion aligns with the company’s strategy to meet the rising demand for experiential travel while contributing to the conservation of India’s architectural heritage.
The chosen haveli for this project, originally built in the 1870s as the residence of a prominent merchant family, showcases intricate frescoes, elaborate carvings, and traditional Rajasthani motifs.
Its murals, dating back to the 1890s, depict religious iconography, floral patterns, and scenes of daily life, reflecting the artistic grandeur of the era.
In line with IHCL’s dedication to heritage conservation, the property has undergone meticulous restoration to preserve its authentic character while integrating modern amenities. Initially opening with 17 keys, the SeleQtions property will soon expand to 35, allowing more guests to experience Mandawa’s rich history and culture in a luxurious setting.
