Popmenu, Square extend partnership to improve services for restaurants

USA – SaaS and restaurant technology company Popmenu has expanded its partnership with point of sale (PoS) service provider Square to further expand its software and hardware solutions for restaurants.

The expanded partnership is intended to streamline operations and increase the profitability of restaurant partners through accelerated features.

These accelerated features include menu syncing, direct order flow, and the introduction of AI-driven marketing and phone answering services.

The instant menu updates (syncing) ensure changes made in Square’s PoS system are automatically reflected on Popmenu’s interactive menus, OpenTable, and with delivery partners before the end of the year.

This menu syncing feature ensures customers always have access to the latest menu information.

Through the expanded partnership, online orders placed through the SaaS company are directly fed into Square’s PoS system, which helps to minimize the risk of human error and provide a seamless experience for both staff and customers.

Popmenu’s AI-powered solutions are also intended to help Square customers address labor shortage issues while at the same time improving revenue and productivity.

The partnership also involves the introduction of an AI marketing feature that automatically generates a full month’s worth of emails, texts, and social media posts tailored to the restaurant’s offerings, events, and reviews.

Reports for online orders and dine-ins are conveniently centralized in Square’s PoS system, which simplifies reporting and provides easy access to important business information.

It also features an AI answering service that operates 24/7, offering custom greetings and responses, promoting events and specials, prioritizing return calls, and providing links for orders and reservations.

The partners have also revealed plans to sync in-store and online guest data, enabling more comprehensive guest profiles and highly targeted marketing efforts with minimal effort from restaurant operators.

Brendan Sweeney, Popmenu’s co-founder and CEO welcomed the partnership expansion by saying, “With Popmenu and Square, restaurants get the benefit of two powerful technologies that ensure smooth, accurate ordering operations while generating a higher volume of new and repeat business.”

“This is especially critical in a market challenged by an ongoing labor shortage and heightened competition for guests. We see the positive impact we’re making on restaurants’ financial outcomes and look forward to delivering even more value through our integration and Square’s app marketplace.”
