The voco brand, IHG’s fastest-growing premium brand which celebrated 100 global openings in 2025, now has 21 open and 5 pipeline properties across the UK and Ireland.

UK – IHG Hotels & Resorts has strengthened its UK portfolio, a key European market, through a strategic expansion with Fairview Hotels encompassing four properties and over 380 rooms.
The development includes the upcoming voco London – Bloomsbury and three Garner Hotel conversions, bolstering IHG’s presence in both the premium and value-driven midscale segments.
Strategic Growth with Conversion-Focused Brands
This multi-property deal underscores the successful owner appeal of IHG’s newer conversion brands, voco and Garner.
These brands are designed to offer faster routes to market and strong returns for owners by transforming existing properties with distinctive branding and service standards.
Willemijn Geels, IHG’s Vice President of Development for Europe, noted the growth is a testament to partner confidence, emphasizing that IHG’s enterprise platform supports delivering stronger investment returns.
Fairview Hotels, which already operates a voco property, cited the proven performance of the brands as a key driver for expanding the partnership.
voco Strengthens Position in Prime London Tourist District
The voco London – Bloomsbury, slated to open in mid-2026, represents a significant addition to IHG’s premium segment in the capital.
The 114-room hotel, housed in a Victorian building on Southampton Row, will join two other IHG properties, the Kimpton Fitzroy London and Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury, creating a clustered footprint in this historic and tourist-heavy area.

Garner Hotels Target High-Demand Regional Hubs
Simultaneously, IHG is expanding its affordable Garner brand into strategic regional locations.
The recently opened Garner Hotel Rotherham East (91 rooms) and the upcoming Garner Hotel Lincoln and Garner Hotel Chesterfield North (each 91 rooms, opening February 2026) are strategically positioned near major motorways, business parks, and leisure attractions like the Peak District and Sherwood Forest.
This targets both commercial travel and domestic tourism, offering consistent, value-focused accommodation with signature amenities like a complimentary arrival snack and free Wi-Fi.
Garner now counts 5 open and 7 pipeline properties in the UK, demonstrating rapid scaling since its launch. This dual-brand expansion reinforces IHG’s comprehensive market coverage and owner-centric growth strategy in its largest European market.
