Nessim brings more than ten years of strategic financial and operational expertise from his tenure at Orascom Development, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and held several senior positions across the MENA region.

OMAN – Muriya, Oman’s leading integrated tourism and real estate developer, a joint venture between Orascom Development Holding and Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), has named Engineer Ashraf Nessim as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2025.
Nessim succeeds Eng. Wael Al Lawati, who successfully led the company through a period of transformative growth.
Nessim brings over a decade of strategic financial and operational experience within Orascom Development, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and held multiple senior roles across the MENA region.
His deep understanding of the Group’s diverse portfolio and strong leadership skills position him to accelerate Muriya’s expansion aligned with Oman Vision 2040’s economic diversification agenda.
Under Nessim’s guidance, Muriya aims to strengthen its commitment to sustainable, customer-focused destinations that integrate lifestyle, community, and innovation.
The company will leverage Orascom’s global expertise in town-building alongside OMRAN’s local market knowledge to deliver future-ready, holistic developments in Oman.
Muriya’s notable integrated complexes, including Hawana Salalah and Jebel Sifah, have become benchmarks of tourism and real estate success in Oman, reflecting its vision for vibrant, sustainable living environments.
Orascom Development brings over 35 years of experience in master-planning integrated towns blending residential, hospitality, leisure, retail, and commercial amenities across Europe, MENA, and GCC markets.
It owns a vast land bank with ongoing projects in Egypt, Oman, the UAE, Switzerland, Montenegro, and the UK.
OMRAN, as the Sultanate’s executive arm for tourism growth, is committed to high-quality lifestyle and tourism communities under Oman Vision 2040, focusing on job creation and sustainable development across the country.
Muriya has recently strengthened its leadership team with key appointments beyond Ashraf Nessim’s CEO role to support its strategic growth initiatives.
In mid-2025, the company appointed Fatima Al Lawati as Chief Marketing Officer, focusing on enhancing brand visibility and elevating customer engagement across its integrated tourism developments.
Additionally, Omar Al Farsi joined as Chief Operating Officer, bringing extensive operational expertise to streamline project delivery and enhance stakeholder collaboration.
The company also welcomed Salim Al Balushi as Head of Sustainability, tasked with advancing Muriya’s commitment to eco-friendly development aligned with Oman’s Vision 2040.
These appointments signal Muriya’s dedication to bolstering its management capabilities to drive innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable expansion in Oman’s growing tourism and real estate sectors.
