EQUATORIAL GUINEA – Equatorial Guinea has convened its 32nd Aeronautical Management Committee session at Grand Hotel Djibloho, focusing on aviation enhancements for tourism growth.

The session began with extensive technical work focusing on drafting proposed resolutions and recommendations, which will subsequently be submitted for approval by the full Management Committee, reflecting a collaborative and thorough approach to aviation governance.

During the session, key stakeholders responsible for managing Bata, Mongomeyen, and Annobón airports presented detailed reports on the current state of air navigation management, the status of compliance with stringent aviation safety standards, and the overall efficiency of air traffic operations.

These presentations formed the basis for identifying critical operational challenges, enabling participants to propose practical and innovative solutions aimed at improving airport performance and capacity.

This was seen as essential to facilitate increased air travel and tourism growth within the country’s borders.

Furthermore, the session served as a vital platform for discussing strategic plans for the upcoming year 2026, reinforcing institutional alignment and bolstering coordination among various aviation entities.

These efforts are specifically designed to ensure that the services provided are not only safe and efficient but also sustainable in the long term.

Maintaining adherence to regional air traffic safety and operational standards remains central to the nation’s broader aviation objectives.

The choice of Grand Hotel Djibloho as the venue underscored its role as a key location for strategic meetings and technical discussions, solidifying its reputation within Equatorial Guinea as the epicenter for important governmental and aviation-related events.

The session reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening airport operations, which is integral to promoting sustainable tourism development and fostering economic growth driven by increased visitor arrivals and aviation-related activities.

By prioritizing the enhancement of infrastructure, safety, and efficiency, Equatorial Guinea is positioning itself as a vital player in regional aviation, ensuring that its tourism sector benefits from reliable and modern air transport services that can cater to the growing demands of both leisure and business travelers.

Equatorial Guinea has launched complementary initiatives like FITAC 2025 in Sipopo to showcase ecotourism and attract global investments. BDEAC financed a 7 billion CFA francs ($11.6 million) four-star Ureka Hotel in Malabo, creating 100 jobs and boosting hospitality capacity.

These efforts align with the government’s strategy to raise tourism’s GDP share from 1% to 10% by 2030. Electronic visa systems and infrastructure upgrades, including Mongomeyen Airport, enhance accessibility for visitors.
