Costa Coffee, Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) renew their partnership to drive growth, innovation for the next 15 years

Since ELR opened the first Costa franchise outside the UK, the two brands have expanded to over 160 stores across the UAE, earning ELR the International Franchise Partner of the Year award.

UAE – Costa Coffee and Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) have strengthened their collaboration by signing long-term agreements that extend their partnership for 15 more years.

This renewed commitment reflects their shared belief in the power of exceptional coffee, craftsmanship, and meaningful customer connections to fuel sustained growth in the Middle East.

Since ELR opened the first Costa franchise outside the UK, the two brands have expanded to over 160 stores across the UAE, earning ELR the International Franchise Partner of the Year award.

ELR’s success stems from a blend of proven best practices and bold innovations tailored to local market trends and consumer preferences.

Both companies also commit to social responsibility through the Costa Foundation, which has funded over 100 school projects and improved education access for more than 120,000 children in coffee-growing communities since 2007.

Costa Coffee has expanded its network of partnerships and investments in 2025, reinforcing its position as a leading global coffee brand.

In the Middle East, Costa Coffee extended its long-term franchise agreement with Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) until 2040, underscoring mutual commitment to sustained growth.

Additionally, Costa Express, a self-serve coffee machine brand, launched new hot and iced beverage options, expanding its presence across 20 international markets with over 15,000 machines in the UK.

One other notable collaboration is its alliance with Coca-Cola, with acquisition prospects.

This partnership extends Costa’s presence into the travel industry, offering passengers signature drinks specially crafted to be enjoyed on flights.
