Air Taxi Egypt launches as the country’s first aerial mobility service

Routes will connect Cairo with key destinations including the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Sheikh Zayed, North Coast, Siwa, New Valley, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, and Aswan.

EGYPT – Air Taxi Egypt has launched as the country’s first aerial taxi service, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Aviation Company and TCM Economic Consulting, part of Prime Group.

Announced during a high-profile ceremony at the Giza Pyramids on October 12, 2025, the service marks a transformative step in Egypt’s transportation and tourism infrastructure.

The venture will offer Comfort and VIP classes for tourists, corporate clients, government delegations, and medical transport using modern vertical aircraft.

Routes will connect Cairo with key destinations including the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Sheikh Zayed, North Coast, Siwa, New Valley, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, and Aswan.

Demonstration flights over the Giza Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum showcased operational readiness and future expansion plans.

The project is backed by an investment of EGP 5 billion (US$104.8 million), signaling strong confidence in Egypt’s growing luxury and business travel markets.

TCM Economic Consulting is leading commercial operations, feasibility studies, marketing, and expansion strategy, combining local expertise with Abu Dhabi Aviation’s 49 years of regional aviation experience.

The service aims to reduce travel time from Cairo to the North Coast to just 60 minutes and to Siwa Oasis in 90 minutes, offering a seamless alternative to road congestion.

A mobile booking app is in development, enabling instant reservations and integration with hotels and resorts.

The initiative supports Egypt’s Vision 2030 by boosting domestic tourism and improving access to new urban centers like the NAC and New Alamein.

Fares range from $200 for short city tours to $1,500 for intercity routes such as Cairo to Siwa or Hurghada to Luxor. Flights from Almaza Airport to Sheikh Zayed cost $350, while trips to the Citadel are priced at $300.

These rates target high-value travelers seeking time efficiency and premium experiences.

Hamad Abdul Razzaq, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, praised the project as a model of UAE-Egypt cooperation in development and modernization.

Mahmoud Al Hamli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation, described it as a step toward smart air transport, aligning with regional urban mobility trends.

The service complements Abu Dhabi Aviation’s own plans to deploy Archer Aviation’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft in the UAE, with test flights already underway. In H1 2025, the company reported net profits of AED 394.42 million (US$107.5 million), down from AED 722.18 million in the same period of 2024.
