SAUDI ARABIA/RUSSIA – Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow proudly hosted the inauguration of the first regular direct flight connecting Moscow and Riyadh, operated by Flynas, a leading Saudi Arabian airline.
This historic launch marks a significant advancement in air connectivity between Russia’s capital and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, opening promising opportunities for business, tourism, pilgrimage, and cultural exchange.
The flights commenced on August 1, 2025.
Flynas operates three weekly flights on this new route, with flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport and Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport.
This service is the first scheduled direct connection between the two countries, responding to increasing passenger demand and fostering stronger ties.
By adding Moscow to its expanding international network, Flynas offers Saudi travelers direct, convenient access to Russia’s vibrant capital city.
Meanwhile, Russian passengers gain easier access to Saudi Arabia’s diverse attractions, including historic sites like Diriyah and famous destinations such as AlUla and the Red Sea coast.
The route also serves pilgrimage travelers heading to the Kingdom, improving accessibility to the Two Holy Mosques and supporting the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Pilgrims Experience Program.
The addition aligns with the Saudi National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to link the Kingdom with 250 international destinations and attract 150 million tourists annually by 2030.
The launch ceremony was celebrated simultaneously at both Vnukovo and King Khalid airports and attended by prominent figures including Abdulrahman Al-Ahmed, Saudi Ambassador to Russia and Belarus, Flynas CEO Bandar Al-Mohanna, and Russian Deputy Transport Minister Vladimir Poteshkin.
Travelers boarding the inaugural flights received gifts and warm welcome events, underscoring the significance of this milestone.
Flynas, known as the world’s leading low-cost carrier in the Middle East, operates over 139 routes to more than 70 destinations in 30 countries, with an extensive weekly schedule of more than 2,000 flights.
This strategic expansion reflects Flynas’ slogan, “We Connect the World to the Kingdom,” reinforcing the airline’s growth ambitions and its role as a key enabler of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives.
Passengers can book their flights through various Flynas channels, including the official website, mobile app, call center, and travel agencies, ensuring broad accessibility to this new direct route.
This landmark Moscow-Riyadh connection by Flynas not only enhances bilateral relations but also promises to boost economic cooperation, tourism exchanges, and cultural ties between Russia and Saudi Arabia for years to come.
