Marugame Udon’s President, Hiroshi Yamaguchi, hosted the Dubai opening, expressing enthusiasm over the warm reception and the chance to introduce freshly made Sanuki-style udon and authentic Japanese hospitality to the UAE.

UAE – Highlighting the UAE’s rising prominence as a hub for global culinary experiences, Japan’s top udon brand, Marugame Udon, has made its regional debut in Dubai.
The company’s first Middle East outlet launched recently at City Centre Deira, drawing over 500 eager guests who queued into the evening, highlighting strong demand from Dubai’s diverse population and the city’s ability to attract top global brands.
Marugame Udon, established in 2000, is the world’s largest udon and tempura restaurant chain, operating more than 1,300 restaurants across 11 international markets.
The Dubai opening was hosted by Marugame Udon’s President Hiroshi Yamaguchi, who expressed excitement about the warm welcome and the opportunity to share freshly prepared Sanuki-style udon noodles and the spirit of Japanese hospitality with the UAE.
City Centre Deira’s strategic location, near Dubai International Airport and directly connected to the metro, was chosen for accessibility and high visibility among both residents and visitors.
The restaurant introduces an open kitchen concept known as “Live Noodle Theatre,” where guests can watch skilled chefs handcraft udon noodles, simmer signature broths, and fry tempura, all in real time.
Marugame’s menu showcases classic dishes such as Kake Udon, Teriyaki Chicken Udon, and vegetarian-friendly Tantan Udon, complemented by a variety of tempura options like shrimp and vegetable fritters, plus chef-curated toppings and customizable condiments, including green chili for local tastes.
All offerings are Halal certified, ensuring inclusivity for the region’s dining preferences.
The culinary team, trained by experts from Japan, employs authentic equipment to keep standards on par with flagship stores in Tokyo and Osaka.
To further appeal to local diners, exclusive items, such as Chicken Katsu Curry Udon and Spicy Maze Udon, were launched in Dubai and will become signature staples as Marugame expands in the market.
Marugame Udon’s arrival signals ambitious regional growth, with plans to open up to 10 UAE locations over the next five years and further expansion into other GCC countries.
This launch builds cultural bridges, offering a fresh and interactive way to experience Japanese comfort food, and cements Dubai’s status as a destination for global culinary innovation.
