The first seven projects alone will add over 750 rooms to Marriott’s Brazilian portfolio, directly addressing increasing demand from both business and leisure travelers seeking reliable, reasonably priced lodging in emerging urban and resort destinations.

BRAZIL – Marriott International has officially marked its entry into the Brazilian market by signing agreements for seven new City Express by Marriott hotels, signifying a bold start to the company’s larger expansion vision in the country’s burgeoning Northeast region.

This milestone, celebrated in the coastal resort town of Porto de Galinhas, marks a significant juncture for Marriott’s wider Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) strategy, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to delivering accessible and high-quality accommodation options in fast-growing markets.

The signing is part of a strategic 15-year development plan between Marriott International and Brazilian partners, with a target of launching around 30 City Express by Marriott properties across the region.

The first seven projects alone will add over 750 rooms to Marriott’s Brazilian portfolio, directly addressing increasing demand from both business and leisure travelers seeking reliable, reasonably priced lodging in emerging urban and resort destinations.

City Express by Marriott, known for its modern simplicity and affordability, will be tailored to the needs of the Brazilian market while maintaining the brand’s internationally recognized service standards.

The new hotels are set to be built in prime locations across the Northeast, one of the country’s fastest-expanding tourism and business corridors, celebrated for its vibrant beaches, cultural diversity, and economic growth.

Pedro Soares, Area Vice President for Marriott International in CALA, emphasized that this momentous debut reflects Marriott’s faith in Brazil’s long-term potential and the resilience of the country’s hospitality sector.

He highlighted that the partnership leverages strong local expertise and Marriott’s global loyalty platform, ensuring strong operational performance and alignment with evolving traveler expectations.

The larger plan to roll out up to 30 new properties under City Express by Marriott will further support Brazil’s growing road trip and regional travel markets, stimulate local economic development, and create valuable employment opportunities across construction, services, and management.

In addition, Marriott’s entry is expected to catalyze further interest from international and regional investors looking to capitalize on untapped hospitality opportunities.

As Marriott International integrates the City Express brand into its global system, guests in Brazil will benefit from access to Marriott Bonvoy, the company’s renowned loyalty program, and enjoy seamless booking and service experiences.

The debut of City Express by Marriott further establishes Marriott International’s leadership in bringing accessible, trustworthy accommodations to travelers across Latin America.
