UAE – Dubai Municipality recently hosted the third edition of the Dubai Food Safety Forum in conjunction with World Food Safety Day, observed under the theme “Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected.”

The forum emphasized the critical role of food safety in supporting Dubai’s thriving hospitality industry and ensuring consumer confidence.

The forum’s discussions centered on how scientific research and evidence-based policymaking can enhance food safety management across the food supply chain, a vital concern for hotels, restaurants, and catering services that serve millions of residents and visitors annually.

Speakers highlighted the importance of resilient, science-backed surveillance systems that help prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and quality in food preparation and service.

This focus aligns with Dubai’s vision to foster a safe, integrated food system that underpins the city’s reputation as a global hospitality hub.

His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, stressed the link between food safety knowledge and operational excellence in the food service sector, “Food safety starts with knowledge — understanding challenges and implementing excellence-driven solutions that translate into tangible actions.”

“The Dubai Food Safety Forum enables us to anticipate future risks and build a smart, safe food system that supports community health and enhances quality of life.”

His remarks underscored the municipality’s commitment to innovation and partnerships that benefit hotels, restaurants, and food businesses.

The forum also announced the opening of registrations for the 19th Dubai International Food Safety Conference, scheduled for November 17–19, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

This conference is the region’s largest food safety event and will feature extensive sessions tailored to the needs of the hospitality and food service industries, including hotels, restaurants, and catering companies.

It offers a platform for industry leaders to exchange best practices, explore innovations, and strengthen collaboration to elevate food safety standards.

By convening experts and stakeholders, the Dubai Food Safety Forum reinforces the city’s commitment to integrating food safety into the core of its hospitality and food service industries.

Through science-driven policies, advanced technology, and collaborative partnerships, Dubai continues to set benchmarks that ensure safe, high-quality food experiences for residents and visitors alike.
