ValueJet to launch direct flights between Lagos and Banjul starting May 15, 2025

NIGERIA – ValueJet is set to enhance West African connectivity with the introduction of direct flights between Lagos, Nigeria, and Banjul, The Gambia, beginning May 15, 2025.

Operating twice weekly, the new route marks a strategic expansion for the airline and opens up fresh opportunities for travel, tourism, and business between the two nations.

Flights will depart from Lagos every Thursday and Sunday at 9:00 PM, arriving in Banjul at 11:30 PM.

Return flights from Banjul are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 AM, landing back in Lagos at 5:00 AM.

This schedule has been designed to accommodate both leisure and business travelers seeking flexible and convenient travel options.

Operating out of the newly opened terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, this service reflects ValueJet’s broader strategy to expand along the West African coast.

Managing Director Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi noted that the new route highlights the airline’s commitment to deepening economic integration in the region.

He emphasized that ValueJet aims to support increased trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and The Gambia.

The route is also set to boost tourism to The Gambia, a country renowned for its unspoiled beaches, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.

As more Nigerians explore regional destinations, the increased air access is expected to result in a surge in leisure travel to The Gambia.

For travel agents, the Lagos, Banjul connection provides an exciting addition to their offerings.
