SENEGAL – Yango Senegal, a subsidiary of the global technology company Yango Group, has announced the launch of its food delivery service.
Yango Food Delivery is now available as part of the Yango SuperApp, a comprehensive platform offering everyday services.
Yango users in Senegal can access a marketplace that integrates restaurant offerings, and soon food stores, to deliver their favorite dishes directly to chosen locations.
The launch of Yango Food Delivery aligns with rapid growth in Senegal’s digital and restaurant sectors.
Data from the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) shows that urbanization and shifting consumer preferences have driven steady growth in the restaurant industry.
With this new service, partner restaurants are expected to boost order volumes while reducing operational costs through an optimized digital framework.
In addition to technological innovation, Yango Senegal is positioning itself as a key driver of economic opportunity.
The service acts as a digital showcase for local establishments, which is especially vital for small and medium-sized enterprises and local entrepreneurs in the restaurant sector.
To support these businesses, Yango Senegal is waiving commission fees for restaurants. Moreover, the service is set to bolster e-commerce growth in line with Senegal’s digital transformation, as internet penetration in urban areas now exceeds 89%.
Aicha Niang, Country Manager of Yango in Senegal, stated that their ambition is to support the local economic ecosystem by creating business opportunities for partner restaurants, expanding their target audiences, and offering marketing and operational support.
She added that Yango Food Delivery is designed to modernize the sector while generating positive economic and social impacts by delivering fast, reliable service.
With established partnerships with restaurants such as Mammamia, Wonderfood, Pizza Time, and Eguettes, Yango Food Delivery aims to become a vital player in Senegal’s food delivery market.
The service is accessible on Android and iOS, opening new opportunities for industry stakeholders and accelerating the nation’s digital advancement.
The addition of food delivery complements Yango SuperApp’s robust portfolio, which includes a ride-hailing service launched in December 2021 and a parcel delivery service introduced in 2022.
This diversification underscores Yango’s commitment to delivering integrated digital solutions that meet the evolving needs of users and local businesses.
