
WEST AFRICA – Multinational hotel chain Swiss International Hotels and Resorts has appointed Emmanuel Uzoma Ele as its new Director for West Africa.
Mr. Ele will be responsible for overseeing business development, hotel management, and licensing services across Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana.
Alongside this new role, Emmanuel Uzoma Ele currently serves as Managing Director at Six Regions Hotels Nigeria, a company with a proven track record in business development and operations.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry across West Africa.
Mr. Ele’s academic background includes an MBA from Imo State University, Owerri, a Senior Certificate Program from Harvard University, and postgraduate degrees in hotel and catering management and public relations.
In his new role, he will focus on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and partnerships, maintaining key client relationships, and collaborating with regional directors and teams to achieve company-wide goals.
Swiss International’s President and CEO, Mr. Henri W.R. Kennedie, expressed confidence in Mr. Ele’s expertise. Kennedie stated that Ele’s entrepreneurial skills and knowledge would drive business growth and enhance operations in West Africa.
He added that Ele’s appointment reflects Swiss International’s commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality services in the region.
Emmanuel Ele emphasized the advantages of collaborating with international hotel brands in the current competitive digital landscape.
He pointed out that hotel owners in Nigeria are eager to align their properties with reputable international brands that offer robust database systems and integrated social media connections.
Swiss International manages and licenses hotels under various brands, including Royal Swiss, Swiss International Hotels & Resorts, Swiss Spirit Hotels & Suites, and Yes Inn.
Mr. Ele’s appointment is expected to contribute to the growth of Swiss International in West Africa, particularly following the company’s significant success in East Africa.
The brand made its East African debut in 2016 with the opening of Swiss International Lenana Nairobi in Kenya’s capital.
The signing of the management agreement with Nairobi-based China Zhong Tian Investment Limited occurred on October 9, 2016, marking the company’s expansion in East Africa.
The company also revealed that its investments and expansions in West Africa will prioritize environmentally friendly initiatives, such as rainwater purification systems, solar panels, and the use of fresh air circulation systems instead of traditional air conditioning.
