Swiss-based operator QSRP acquires majority stake in Chopstix

UK – Switzerland-based operator Quick Service Restaurant Platform QSRP has acquired a majority stake in pan-Asian QSR brand Chopstix.

The financial details of the acquisition have not been made public.

According to Chopstix, the acquisition will help the fast-growing chain’s expansion into the UK and Europe.

The Pan-Asian chain also revealed it hopes the collaboration will offer significant value through leveraging QSRP’s capitalization abilities, strategic resources, expertise, and operational systems to support Chopstix’s next phase of growth.

Menashe Sadik, co-founder of Chopstix, said, “This partnership will enable us to scale our business and to drive the Chopstix experience to new markets in Europe.”

“We look forward to partnering with the team at QSRP and delivering long-term growth and success for both our businesses.”

Welcoming the acquisition, QSRP revealed its investment in the pan-Asian noodle chain aligns with its strategy to broaden and diversify its portfolio into promising QSR segments. The operator expressed confidence the partnership will help strengthen its foothold in the UK market.

Alessandro Preda, QSRP’s CEO, said, “The investment is a testament to our confidence in Chopstix’s potential to become a leading QSR player across Europe.”

“Together, we will work to elevate the Chopstix brand and bring its delicious and convenient offering to a wider audience.

The acquisition was announced barely a month after Chopstix opened its first location outside the UK and Ireland, with a location on the ground floor of the food court within Bucharest’s Henri Coanda International Airport in Romania.

Chopstixs portfolio includes 150 locations across the UK and Ireland, with a majority operating under the core brand. The chain also owns the Yangtze and Chosen Noodle chains, acquired in 2023.

The two alternative brands were also included in the acquisition deal.

Chopstix is the latest addition to QSRP’s vast portfolio of over 1,240 restaurants which include 144 virtual kitchens operated across the UK and Europe. It operates in seven countries in this region.

QSRP-operated brands include the Belgian QSR chain Quick, the French-style taco chain O’Tacos, and Dunkin’ Doughnuts, the largest coffee and donut chain in the US.
